Okay, so the bike didn't win anything (not that I was expecting it would), but it got some good exposure and maybe it inspired some (builders) to either do something with one, or at least consider building some custom stuff for it.

All in all a fun experience, and while in the back of my mind, I could easily be tempted to consider building my own version of a show bike, the reality is I don't have the time or money to go down that road - which is fine, cause as nice as bikes are to look at, the real joy is in riding them!

Like I said, the drive out to Corona sux - I left work early so I'd miss peak hour traffic but it still took 2 and a half hours to travel the 52 mostly freeway miles...

The guys at RaceTech were extremely pleased with how the bike is is set up now. They lightened up the fork springs, corrected the fork stickiness (grabby stiction due to incorrect spacer widths - I'm using the Braking spacers that came with the wheels), installed new adjustable caps on the rear shocks, took additional measurements and made other various necessary adjustments.

I only rode it about 50 feet to where I could load the bike up on the back of the truck, but in that short span I could already tell the steering was a lot lighter.

I need to get home early again tomorrow to take care of some other businesses, so i've decided i'll ride to work. It's be pretty much freeway, with no real twisties to speak off, but it'll give me a chance to re-connect and start to get a feel for the changes. Hopefully, whether permitting, I can get out this weekend and put it through it's paces.

Todd called yesterday to say the bike was ready. Unfortunately, with it being Thanks Giving, they were closing at noon and wont be open again until next Monday - bit of a drag, but then again, looks like the weather is turning sour. I'll need to try make arrangements to head out to Corona again next week in the truck to pick it up (the drive out there from Culver City - where I work - really sux...)
